Dating back to the sixteenth century, Lisburn is one of the ancient towns of Co. Down. This collection of fifty-three rare period images recalls the town as it was at the turn of the twentieth century and they feature shops, markets and the life of the town in the years up to 1950. Also documented are the many drastic changes to the town's architecture over the years. Other subjects include the Lisburn Riots of 1920 and the history of the famous Friends' School. |
