We are committed to ethical business practices and have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.
Although our turnover is below the threshold set by the Modern Slavery Act 2015 (Section 54), we believe it is important to be transparent about the steps we take to prevent slavery in our business and supply chains.
Our commitments include:
- Acting with integrity and expecting the same from suppliers and partners.
- Requiring suppliers to confirm compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- Assessing higher-risk areas of our supply chain and taking proportionate action.
- Raising staff awareness so that concerns can be recognised and reported.
- Encouraging a culture of openness with a clear process for reporting concerns.

We are committed to reducing our environmental impact and supporting Scotland’s national target to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2045.
What We’re Doing Now:
- Recycling all cardboard, paper and plastics through licensed contractors.
- Reusing incoming cartons and packaging wherever possible.
- Donating, reselling and recycling surplus stock rather than sending it to landfill.
- Printing all Lomond Books publishing on FSC-certified paper.
- Providing free on-site EV charging for staff and visitors.
- Upgrading warehouse and office lighting to LED with motion sensors.
Our Future Goals:
- By 2026: Full LED installation and 70% reduction in paper use through electronic invoicing.
- By 2030: At least 100% of packaging sourced from recycled materials.
- By 2045: Full alignment with Scotland’s Net Zero target.

- Mean gender pay gap: –9.1% (women earn on average 9% more than men). Median gender pay gap: –8.2% (women earn on average 8% more than men). This demonstrates there is no structural pay disadvantage for women within our business.

We believe fair work practices are essential to staff wellbeing and service quality. We are a Real Living Wage employer and do not use zero-hours contracts.
