Solway Coast Powfoot to Caulkerbush

The Solway Coast has a well-deserved reputation as one of the most picturesque parts of Scotland, characterised by castles, villages and beautiful countryside. This volume covers a relatively short stretch of the coast, taking in the communities of Powfoot, Cummertrees, Ruthwell, Clarencefield, Carrutherstown, Mouswald, Bankend, Glencaple, Kelton, New Abbey, Carsethorn, Kirkbean, Southerness, Gillfoot, Mainsriddle and Caulkerbush. Comlongon and Caerlaverock Castles feature, as do Sweetheart Abbey, the Solway Fishery and some of the area's big houses.
