Th first title in this new series looking at Scotland's railways in the years between 1980 & 1993. At the time these perhaps didn't feel like they would ever be described as the "Classic Diesel Years" but these were the times when the successors to the steam trains were operating under BR & before Privatisation. In 64 of Tom's own photographs from this era the book shows many of them at work on the 188 rail miles of the scenic Highland Main Line between the 'Fair City' & the 'Highland Capital'. Locations featured include Pitlochry, Dalwhinnie, Blair Atholl, Aviemore, Newtonmore, Carrbridge, Slochd & many more. |
