Irvine is probably the town in Ayrshire which has experienced the most changes in it over the years, meaning that much of the heritage and history of the town has been lost, and in many cases almost forgotten. This little book takes a fond look back at the burgh, mainly before the advent of the New Town, with a variety of old pictures and a detailed description of the places depicted. Not everything has been lost, fortunately, and Irvinites will find much of interest within, igniting various memories of the old town. |
