This attractive collection includes photographs of three different generations of the famous Renfrew ferry. The steamer Isle of Arran is also included, with several other Clyde traffic pictures. The area around the town hall is captured before the one and two-storey thatched buildings were demolished while subsequent shots show the substantial sandstone tenements which replaced them. There are also some fantastic views of the very futuristic Renfrew Airport building dating from the 1950s. Alison Cumming’s text provides a fascinating accompaniment to the nostalgic photographs.
